AFRIMMA 2016: The Weekend Dallas Stood Still For Africa | PHOTOS

The 3rd edition of the Biggest African Music Awards in Diaspora African Muzik Magazine Awards AFRIMMA shook the city of Dallas on the weekend of 14th/15th October, 2016. The weekend activities kicked off with the Music For Social Change Panel that saw ebullient speakers bare their minds on music and the role of musicians in impacting positively on the community. Artists like Akothee from Kenya, 2face from Nigeria represented the artists community.

This was followed by the Welcome Party at Villa Lounge attended by Bisa Kdei, Zoro, Kcee, 2face Kyaku Kyadaff from Angola and more.Then on Saturday the 15th, it was a huge day for Africa in Dallas as Top African music stars like C4 Pedro, Victoria Kimani , Sauti Sol, Bidsa Kdei, Harmonize, Harrysongs,Carlou D, 2face Idibia, Kcee, Ibtissam Tiskat along with the African music industry top shots converged at the Black Academy of Arts and Letters for a historic night of celebration. AFRIMMA 2016 saw artists like Efya, Ibtissam Tiskat,Bisa Kdei, Sauti Sol, C4 Pedro, Carlou D, Kcee and Harrysongs as well as Flavour dishing out amazing performances.

Hosted by Africa’s number 1 comedian Basketmouth and American reality TV superstar Cynthia Bailey,the show kicked off with much fanfare as Moroccan beauty Ibtissam Tiskat picked up the first award on the night as she emerged the Best Female North Africa. The event was graced by top dignitaries in the American and African music industry like Dj Duffey, Bovi, Efe Omorogbe. Other big winners on the night include Ghanaian duo Efya and Bisa Kdei as well as Sauti Sol. Flavour won the biggest gong of the night taking home the Artist of the Year 2016 and capped it with a resounding performance.
