Ayo Jay’s single, “Your Number” has just been announced an American RIAA-Certified Gold Record recipient. This news was announced by the R&B artiste, Ayo Jay who took to twitter to share the good news.
This means great for the artiste which shows that his single track “Your Number” has made massive sales. According to Wikipedia, an American RIAA-certified Gold record is presently a single or album that has sold 500,000 units (records, tapes or compact discs), and this wouldn’t come as a surprise as even the New York Times had ranked “Your Number” as 6th best songs of 2016 and the song has also made its debut as #24 on Billboard Hot R&B songs.
This successful announcement is already receiving positive responses from fans on Twitter who also see the achievement the song and artiste has made.
The award was launched in 1958; originally, the requirement for a Gold single was one million units sold and a Gold album represented $1 million in sales (at wholesale value, around a third of the list price)
