Peruzzi Attacked On Twitter For Awarding Himself The Most Hardworking New Act In 2018

DMW artiste, Peruzzi has been attacked on Twitter for announcing himself the most hardworking new artiste in 2018 on the same night Teniola Apata, a.k.a Teni Makanaki won the SoundcityMVP Best New Artiste. This happened yesterday on the 5th of January at the Soundcity MVP Award Festival.

The Amaka singer went on Twitter to rant about the supposed unfairness about the award, stating that he was the most hardworking artiste in 2018 and made more money in 2018 hence it was supposedly only fair to be awarded the Best New Artiste which was given to Teniola Apata a.k.a Teni Entertainer. Although these words weren’t said verbatim, people have been able to connect dots considering the fact that it was posted on the same night of the award and that conclusion brought on the attacks.

This reaction of the DMW star as earlier stated has been reacted on by social media users who informed Peruzzi that he cannot compare himself to Teniola who although a woman in the Nigerian music industry, has grown her brand without collaboration or being with any major label like him but rather talent has placed her where she is. Most are also of the opinion that although he has created hit songs for top artistes like Davido, he has not created any for himself that he did alone.

Peruzzi so far has released songs that although really good, aren’t as banging as Teni’s seven singles which have all been everyone’s favourite. From songs like Fargin, Lagos, Fake Jersey, Wait, Uyo Meyo, Askamaya, and her recent Case. While this is a fact, many are also saying that Peruzzi is riding on Davido’s success to become successful.

The reactions, although ruthless have been met with composure as the artiste announced that since he didn’t work as he thought he did, he’ll be putting in more work into his music in 2019 and try to be a better artiste.

You are equating making money or collecting handouts from your boss as more successful than Teni, someone who has broken new ground/created a lane for herself & doesn’t need features 2 flourish?
