As the most Grammy-nominated Nigerian artiste, music icon, Femi Kuti has reacted to being nominated and the entire idea of awards.
On the 26th of November 2020, Femi Kuti replied @CorrentsCharts' tweet which stated the music icon's Grammy nominations record. Femi Kuti expressed that music is not about awards and further highlighted what he believes music should be about. His post reads:
Music really isn’t about awards though. Fela never won or was never nominated. I don’t think Bob Marley was too. Music is about spreading, giving people the will to go through the hard times in life, etc and inspiration. Music must bring comfort too.
