The race was not the best for Nwokocha as she finished fifth in her race with a time of 11.07 seconds in the Heat 3 of the semifinals. The fastest woman in the world Jamaica's, Shelly-Ann- Fraser-Pryce, won the heat with a time of 10.73 seconds, with Switzerland's Mujinga Kambundji in second place.

Nwokocha would leave the competition with her head up high as she ran her personal best time of 11 seconds in the 100 meters heat on Thursday, July 30th, 2021. This feat makes her the fifth-fastest Nigerian woman in history.
