On the latest instalment of "Songs of The Week," we cover hot releases across Afrobeats and the Nigerian music scene. This week's episode features Burna Boy, Black Sherif, Olamide, M.I Abaga, Vector, Fireboy DML, and more. Check out our playlist on Spotify and Apple Music.

BLACK SHERIF X BURNA BOY - LAST SERMON (REMIX)

Ghanaian buzzing singer and performer Kwaku Frimpong, popularly known as Black Sherif, has teamed up with Nigerian Grammy-award winning act Burna Boy for the remix of his smash tune 'Second Sermon'.

'Second Sermon' is a sequel to the original 'First Sermon' song, which started out as a freestyle by Black Sherif. The song made waves in the Ghanaian music scene and, by extension, the African scene as well.

M.I ABAGA, LOOSE KAYNON, A-Q, BLAQBONEZ - L.A.M.B CYPHER 3.0

M.I Abaga, AQ, Loose Kaynon & Blaqbonez have released a new cypher to honour the late Nigerian producer Beats by Jayy. In a bid to honour the late beatmaker, M.I Abaga, A-Q, Loose Kaynon, and Blaqbonez have released another LAMB Cypher and, as expected, all the rappers on the cypher came through with the smoke.

The cypher saw Blaqbonez's lyrical prowess first, as the talented rapper ran through topics that revolved around his healthy bank account, his hefty manhood, and his desire to be with media personality Nancy Isime. Loose Kaynon, in his usual self, walked down the "real life" lane, making it known that he is doing well as a music executive and living a luxury life.

M.I. Abaga followed with his witty bars, ending his verse with a request for the young people to get their PVCs in order to kick useless government officials out while A-Q rounded up the cypher, and just like the first, second, and third cypher, the son of John came angry and brought all the smoke, precisely "hot fuse" this time around.

HARRYSONG - SHE KNOWS (FEAT. OLAMIDE, FIREBOY DML)

Weeks after dishing out the visuals for his previous record 'Be By Me', Harrysong proudly delivers a collabo of the year contester. The record is titled 'She Knows' and it features the powerhouses of the YBNL Nation camp, Olamide and Fireboy DML.

'She Knows' is Harrysong's fourth official single for the year, it is that particular tune to appropriately wrap up the year with. The record was produced by rising beatmaker, Dezimix.

M.I ABAGA X VECTOR - SPIRIT

Empawa Africa drop their end of year extended play and it features songs from Nigerian Hip-Hop heavyweights and their proteges. On the project, M.I Abaga and Vector collaborate on a beautiful piece entitled 'Spirit'.

The record was produced by super-talented beatsmith BeatsbyJayy, mixed and mastered by renowned sound engineer, Swaps. RIP BeastbyJayy.

MOHBAD - BACKSIDE

Uber-talented singer and songwriter Mohbad has decided to wrap up the year with a potential smash dubbed 'Backside'. Riding the bubbly percussion, Mohbad settles into a warm groove as he sings passionately about a love interest.

Co-produced by his frequent collaborators Niphkeys and Timijay, 'Backside' serves as Mohbad's second official single for the year. It is a follow-up to the previously released street smash 'Feel Good'.

SEYI SHAY - GLOWANNA (FEAT. SIMI)

Seyi Shay wraps up 2021 in a good fashion as she rolls out an impressive body of work, a new album entitled 'Big Girl'. It is actually her sophomore album, a follow-up to her debut 'Seyi or Shey' released back in 2018.

Off the LP, 'Glowanna' featuring Studio Brat frontier Simi is one of the standout tracks. The record was produced by talented beatmaker, Dr Amir.

FIOKEE X BELLA SHMURDA - PERSONAL

Fiokee, who also recently released another evergreen classic dubbed, Follow You, featuring Afro-fusion superstars Chike and Gyakie, has successfully carved a discography laden with timeless records. On Personal, he unleashes a harvest of mesmerizing guitar riffs, which blend with the Afro-fusion rhythm on the record.

The chemistry between Bella Shmurda and Fiokee on this introspective groove anthem is seamless, as Bella’s sharp and fluffy vocals simmer through the Amapiano-fused jam.
